Opening Weekend a Success | November 5, 2012
Capacity or near-capacity, enthusiastic audiences came to our first shows. Unexpected strong applause followed one scene in the middle of Act 1, Act 1 and the show as a whole got sustained, sincere applause, and people kept describing the show as "great." There's also a highly favorable reader review on the Washington Post website (http://www.washingtonpost.com/gog/performing-arts/atheists-paradise,1237427/reader-reviews.html).
Grueling Rehearsals Continue

Keegan Cassady interviews author Bill Goodman about playwriting, theatre, his inspiration, and other deep questions.
Successful Staged Reading
The staged reading and discussion on August 11 attracted an intelligent and diverse audience, including some theatre professionals. Comments included both high praise and constructive criticism. It's normal for the script of a new play to change during the rehearsal process when a living, present playwright is involved, and we'll be able to use the comments. Among the suggestions were
- ●More fully including the corporate--or business administration education--point of view
- ●Portraying certain events that were only described, like Sheila's flying lessons
- ●More action onstage, like tossing around a football
- ●Clarifying the nature of the cosmic Judge and Clerk
